The Annual CCPPP National Conference is now recognized as the premier event on public-private partnerships (P3) in the world. It began in 1992 and has since grown to include over 1,200 senior public and private sector participants, making it the largest annual gathering of P3 decision-makers.

The Annual CCPPP event attracts a wide range of participants from the public sector at the municipal, provincial, territorial and federal levels across Canada as well as aboriginal communities and represent a cross-section of P3-related professions, including law, finance, construction, engineering, project management, architecture, consulting, communications, real estate development and building services.

Omer Malik, Vice President, Project Finance- Infrastructure to speak at 9th annual Western Canadian Innovation in Infrastructure Finance Forum in Banff, Alberta

Omer Malik, Vice President, Project Finance- Infrastructure will be participating as a guest speaker at the 9th annual Western Canadian Innovation in Infrastructure Finance Forum in Banff, Alberta on July 10, 2014. Omer will be speak at “A shift in the balance: Sponsor-lender relationships examined” session taking place at 11:30AM on July 10th.

Omer Malik joins Stonebridge

Stonebridge is pleased to announce its new Project Finance – Infrastructure team led by Omer Malik who will be joining Stonebridge on April 22nd as Vice President, Project Financing – Infrastructure, with a focus on business development and the structuring, syndicating and closing of new infrastructure based lending opportunities in the institutional market.

Omer brings to Stonebridge nearly 15 years of financial services industry experience gained in a number of increasingly progressive positions held with several Canadian banks and DBRS. Prior to joining Stonebridge, Omer held the position of Senior Director, Project Finance – Private Fixed Income, with Sun Life Financial, where he was responsible for the management of a portfolio of power and infrastructure/P3 private debt investments

Tetyana Lymar, Director, Project Financing – Infrastructure, completes the team. Tetyana joined Stonebridge last fall to develop new project finance opportunities, primarily in the infrastructure – health sector, and to structure, syndicate and close these transactions in the institutional market. Tetyana has over 10 years of lending experience earned at one of the major Canadian banks, where she held several managerial positions in retail and commercial banking.

With this new team, Stonebridge continues to build on its success and reputation for bringing high quality, well-structured infrastructure transactions to the market.

 

Sanjeet Shahi joins Stonebridge

Sanjeet brings to Stonebridge several years of accounting experience with the State Street Corporation.He holds a Certified Management Accountant designation and a Bachelor of Commerce from the Ryerson University.

Tetyana has over 10 years of lending experience earned at one of the major Canadian banks, where she held several managerial positions in retail and commercial banking. Tetyana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from University of Guelph, as well as a Master of Business degree in Finance from the University of Leicester.

In joining Stonebridge Tetyana complements an already strong team of project finance professionals and will be a valuable resource in our continued effort to bring high quality, well-structured project finance transactions to the market.

Mariya Maksymova joins Stonebridge

Stonebridge is pleased to announce that Mariya Maksymova has joined the portfolio administration team as a Credit Analyst- Relationship Officer.

Mariya brings to Stonebridge several years of commercial lending experience with the Business Development Bank of Canada.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

In joining Stonebridge Mariya will complement an existing team of financial professionals and will be a valuable resource in  our continued effort to provide high quality and trusted portfolio administrative services.

Stonebridge Infrastructure Debt Fund I LP (“SIDF”) is pleased to announce it’s $17.5 million participation in a $72 million 40 year construction and term project financing for the Northwest Stave River run-of-river hydroelectric project

Stonebridge Infrastructure Debt Fund I LP (“SIDF”) is pleased to announce it’s $17.5 million participation in a $72 million 40 year construction and term project financing for the Northwest Stave River run-of-river hydroelectric project located in British Columbia. The 17.5 MW hydroelectric project is located on Crown land, approximately 35 km north of Mission, British Columbia. Construction began in 2011 and commercial operation is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2013. Northwest Stave’s average annual production is estimated to reach 61,900 MWh, enough to power approximately 6,000 BC households.

Financing has been arranged by Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. as agent and lead lender.

Owership of the project is through Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. (“Innergex”), a leading Canadian independent renewable power producer. Active since 1990, the Company develops, owns, and operates run-of-river hydroelectric facilities, wind farms, and solar photovoltaic farms and carries out its operations in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, and Idaho, USA.

Michel Letellier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Innergex commented “We are very satisfied with the terms of this financing agreement, which provides for fixed-rate debt at a very attractive rate, with a term corresponding to the duration of the power purchase agreement for this project. This agreement confirms the Corporation’s ability to secure appropriate project financing, and serves as a reminder of its sound business model based on developing high-quality assets that generate stable and predictable cash flows over the long term, minimizing risks, and maximizing its competitive position in the renewable energy space, in order to create value for its shareholders.”

Louis Bélanger, Managing Director, SIDF added “We are delighted to be in a position to fund this project which will contribute to the overall expansion of Innergex as a competitive renewable power provider. Furthermore, it will generate high quality cash flows to the Fund’s limited partners”.

The Stonebridge Infrastructure Debt Fund I LP is a closed-end fund, developed with the support of PPP Canada Inc. with capital commitments for the Fund in excess of $200 million being provided by the Business Development Bank of Canada (“BDC”) and a group of Canadian pension funds.
